Yvonne Maldonado

Dr. Yvonne Maldonado is a Professor of Pediatrics and Health Research & Policy at Stanford's School of Medicine, where she serves as Chief of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Her research focuses on pediatric infectious diseases, global health, and vaccine development, with particular expertise in viral infections, immunization strategies, and infectious disease epidemiology in children. Dr. Maldonado has conducted extensive research on respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), rotavirus, and other childhood infections, while also leading clinical trials and population-based studies to improve prevention and treatment strategies for pediatric patients. She has served in leadership roles with numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Infectious Diseases, and has been instrumental in developing national immunization guidelines and policies. Her work extends globally through collaborations aimed at reducing infectious disease burden in resource-limited settings, and she has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications that have shaped clinical practice and public health policy in pediatric infectious diseases.
